Thank you for your interest in the newly formed, Dixon Adult Literacy Program (DALP).

The ability to read, write and speak English is the foundation for so many of the things we all want to do. The literacy skills we have or don’t have are not related to how “smart” we are. It has more to do with whether we received the tools and the help we needed at the right time in our lives to help read, write or speak as well as we want or need. As a tutor, that’s what you will be doing: helping people get the tools they need to achieve their dreams and goals for a lifetime.

Learning to read, write and speak well is literally a gift that can’t be lost, taken or misplaced. Once you teach someone to read, they will know how to read forever.
